Wedding Vow Rings

A Man's Wedding Band (or Woman's) Engraved a Whole New Way

If you're looking to make your man's wedding band really special,
here is an article from Jerry Biern that you should find quite
interesting.

Engraving Your Wedding Bands? New Technology Creates
Romantic Possibilities. What is more romantic than looking
inside of your wedding band and seeing a personalized
engraving with special meaning for the you and your spouse?

There are a few ways to accomplish this task that your jeweler
will recommend and now some new processes available that
increase the limits of the message that can be created.

Let us review the traditional methods most currently being
used in the marketplace.

First, there is hand engraving done by an artisan engraver
using a hand tool called a graver. It is not a perfect process and
the results will depend on the quality and skill of the craftsman doing the work.

Also commonly used is machine engraving which is much
more precise but usually limited to one row of words using
up to 20 characters.

Now, a specialty process adapted to a not so new technology,
called laser engraving, has opened up a whole new realm of
possibilities for wedding couples who are thinking of engraving
their rings. Wedding bands are now being created with entire
messages that are clearly readable and up to 225 character long.
This allows the ability to write whole passages, even entire
wedding vows, on the inside of the wedding bands. Currently ,
bridal couples are engraving civil vows, religious vows, love poetry,
even Shakesperean sonnets.

This sentimental and romantic addition to your wedding bands
can forever be a reminder of the commitments made, and add a
special and unique touch to your wedding day.

Wedding Shoes Are BORING! Get Inspired!

Wedding shoes are boring. Yup, I sell them and I've
worn them and I think the styles are boring and
uncomfortable. I tell my customers the truth, they
aren't very comfortable for a long day on your feet.
Most wedding shoes are fabric and the fabric doesn't give
like leather. They rub and you'll get blisters because
most, but not all, are not very well padded inside.
When your feet hurt, you take your shoes off. Every
wedding I've been to lately, the bride has taken off
her shoes. Then her dress is too long, she trips on it
and the hem gets filthy. Its not really attractive and
it freaks me out because I know how long we've spent
getting her hem perfect. And then she's barefoot
and trashing the dress. Makes me nuts.

I always tell my brides to wear comfortable shoes,
but they should also have some flair. When your
feet hurt, you feel miserable. I know, you don't
see the shoes, but you do when the garter comes off or when
you pull up the dress to walk. Buy shoes that have some
flair!

OK, to be fair about wedding shoes, TouchUps do have some
really hot styles. And the shoes are more padded than they
used to be.

I am a shoe freak. If the shoes are amazing, I want them.
My husband bought me a tee shirt that says If you wear
really cool shoes no one will notice the size of your ass.
I love it and my mother hates it. My husband has traipsed
through a lot of shoe stores with me. Nothing can send me into a
frenzy like a rocking pair of shoes except for a rocking shoe sale.

Now back to my premise...wedding shoes. Who says wedding
shoes HAVE to be white or ivory fabric? They don't. The rule
is to match the hemline of your dress, but that rule can be broken.
You can wear a metallic shoe that matches your beading on your
dress and your jewelry. You CAN wear a color. You can wear leather.

My favorite shoe story is the bride who came in with a box of
shoes she purchased in London with the idea that SOME DAY
she'd wear them to her wedding. She opened the box and I nearly
cried tears of joy. They were the most stunning shoes I'd ever l
aid eyes on...red ankle strap stilettos with a hand wrapped red
rose in the front. Finally, a bride who thought outside of the box!
She chose an ankle length ivory charmeuse gown with a sweep train
and complimented the dress with ruby red crystal jewelry and
tiara. It was jaw dropping, she looked amazing! And those shoes!

Here are some styles for the bride that have flair and are
you can wear them again AFTER the wedding and on your
honeymoon. Love them! I found most of these styles on
shoes.com.

And lets not forget your bridesmaids. I've chosen pictures
or rather simple bridesmaids dresses by Alfred Angelo.
Look at the shoes on the model, then look at how
a stunning pair of shoes can change the look of the outfit.

The yellow shoes are by Jessica Simpson and can easily be
worn again and again. Use both colors in their bouquets
for some amazing pictures.

The polka dot shoes are by Naturalizer and are not expensive,
they are under $40, they have a sexy peep toe and can be
worn to work or play. Every gal can use a little black
dress and a hot pair of black shoes!

These shoes are by Via Spiga. I love the color of champagne
with the champagne dress. It brings out the shine and sparkle
of a classic style dress. OMG, I love these shoes.

These shoes in both pictures are by Carlos Santana and
they are stunning. Look at how they turn a simple dress into a
stunning ensemble. Keep the jewelry simple and wow! Your maids
will thank you for shoes that they can wear again,
are totally hot looking and aren't stogy. I think I really
need these shoes. ;)

Are you inspired to find some fabulous shoes for your wedding?
No more BORING uncomfortable shoes for the best day of
your life. Find shoes you love, wear them and don't take
them off at the reception. Just hitch up your hemline and
show them off, and the best part? You get to wear them
again and again!

Camouflage Wedding Theme, Camo Wedding

The camouflage wedding theme doesn't happen in
the big cities. Its a fad theme favored by hunters.
I originally believed it to be an off shoot of military
weddings, but I was corrected by a bride using this as
her theme. According to her, she and her fiance are
avid hunters and they decided to make it their wedding
theme.

To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any major
wedding gown companies making camouflage wedding dresses.
The camo wedding dresses are custom, but the wedding dress
with the green top is by Justin Alexander.
The bridesmaid dresses are by Mori Lee and Winnie Couture.

A word of caution: a bit of camo goes a long way and can
get too busy in your photographs.

Use solid colors that compliment the camouflage print or it
will get overwhelming. Use rust, orange, browns and olives
to compliment the camo.

The shoes are just amazing, LOVE THEM! The cute schnauzer
is the flower dog, wearing a camo outfit. OK, so I'm a
shoe freak who has a schnauzer, but I'd totally wear the shoes
with brown or olive to work.

Toilet Paper Wedding Dresses For the Disposable Wedding

Every wedding dress in the photos are made from
toilet paper. Some of the designs and work are incredible.
But its still toilet paper! There is a huge joke here,
but I'm going to let you insert your own because my
joke is not G rated.

I have to hand it to these gals. They used a lot of
ingenuity and work in fashioning these dresses out
of toilet paper. All that work is going to be flushed
away.

Which brings up the following questions:
How do you keep your dress together when someone hugs you
or you dance?
What do you do if it rains? Will you be naked?
If you go to the bathroom, will you be held against your will?
If you sneeze, is it OK to wipe your nose on your dress?
And will you be forced to recycle your gown? Like hand
it up in the bathroom and pick pieces off of the gown?
Will it start to fall apart if you start nervously sweating?
What happens if someone spills a drink on it?
If you spill food on it during dinner, do you just pull off that
section so you look fresh?

These dresses won't be handed down to the daughter because
they aren't going to be family heirlooms. The life span of
toilet paper is short lived.

And....is this the answer to disposable weddings?

Jennifer and Doy Nichols celebrate their wedding
at the Charmin Restrooms on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 in
Times Square New York. Jennifer's hand made dress was made
using Charmin Ultra Soft and Charmin Ultra Strong.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME???? Wearing a dress
of toilet paper and getting married in a freaking bathroom?
WTF?

Sunflower Wedding Theme: Summer/Fall Wedding Themes

Sunflowers are a sign of summer, good luck and
something I'm sure you didn't know: they are a
sign of hope to cancer patients. Sunflowers grow towards
the sun and move with the rays as the day progresses.
Sunflowers are the perfect theme for a summer or
fall wedding.

With sunflowers, you can go toward an earth tone
palette or to a more cool blue toned color palette.

For earth tones, use a gold/yellow/orange/brown
palette. You can add olive green, rust, pumpkin
orange, deep peach and bronze.

For a blue color palette, use a medium blue, accent with
a meadow green and lemon yellow.

Wedding dresses are by Winnie Couture, Casablanca and
Mori Lee. Maids are by Winnie Couture, and Mori Lee.

Sunflowers make me smile because they are
such a happy flower!

Rock Your Wedding With Unique Touches to Make Your Wedding Unforgettable!

Rock your wedding by making it stand out
from the ho-hum cookie cutter weddings.
One detail is all you need to make it
rock and make it memorable for all your
guests.

What makes a wedding rock? It doesn't
have to be expensive. It doesn't have to
be massive. Its a special touch that makes
it unique and gives it that buzz that rocks
and makes your wedding unforgettable.

Maybe its a unique color scheme. Think
hot pink tablecloths, pumpkin colored plates
and lime green napkins with pink, orange and
green floral centerpieces.

Rock it by renting a photo booth at your
reception. Or having your photographer
print instant family group pictures at the
reception.

Put a small flowering plant at each place setting
at the reception and give them to your guests.

Turn your indoor space into an outdoor garden by
using potted plants and some ingenuity. Rent fountains
and potted trees and benches for your guests to
have a place to sit and chat.

Make a softly lounge for your guests so they can
talk without shouting over the music. Set up a
self serve soda bar and snacks.

Vary your playlist at your reception so it appeals to
all ages. Throw in some Sinatra for your grandparents,
some 70's dance rock and soul for slow dancing, some
80's disco. Hire a dance instructor to teach a dance
to your guests, do something to get it rocking!

Rocking your wedding means making it unique, taking
it out of the realm of ordinary into extraordinary.
Think outside of the box and rock your day!

Rock it with your wedding cake!

This is one of the most AMAZING wedding
cakes evah! Love it!

Think outside of the box!

Pink and Green Wedding Theme

Pink and green go together like peanut butter
and jelly. They are fun colors that can take on an
elegant look with the right touches of flowers and
table settings. Pink and green blend together and the
colors just pop in wedding pictures. Its the perfect
color scheme for a wedding. Everyone, including
redheads, can wear some shade of pink.

The bride has a lot of option from a soft blush pink
wedding dress or a white, ivory or champagne dress
trimmed in pink or green.

The maids can wear pink, green or a combination
of the two. The wedding dresses are by Mon Cheri
and Mori Lee. The maids are by Alfred Angelo
and Forever Yours. And we snuck in a picture or
the singer, Pink, who just happened to be wearing
the theme colors!
