Golden Globe Dress Trend: Wedding Dresses

I decided to take a Golden Globe red carpet look and translate it into a wedding look for a real bride.  I was inspired after reading an article on London's Mail online that said the hot red carpet trend is the wedding dress look.

I personally think this stunning dress by Atelier Versace  worn by Angelina Jolie would make a stunning wedding dress, and it did have a train.  I love the asymetrical cut of the bodice and the gathers across the mid section, its the perfect way to hide a tummy. And the swash of red on the neckline accents the face and adds a bit of color to the cheeks.

Here's how I would accessorize this dress for a wedding:  (Red lips are totally optional!)

The dress is just too sleek for a veil!

What do you think?  I have been enamoured of red accessories with a wedding gown after we did a wedding some 5 or 6 years ago.  Our bride planned her wedding around a pair of to die for red silk shoes she purchased in London.  She chose a slinky ivory silk charmeuse bias cut dress and we cut the hem just high enough to show off  THE SHOES.  Or rather the silk red roses on the ruby red shoes.    She accessorized with red crystals and a big red rose in her hair.   It was totally unconventional at the time and was the most amazing look I'd seen outside of an editorial in a fashion wedding magazine.

You can recreate my ideas by shopping on Etsy.    You'll find unique ways to express YOUR style, YOUR personality and do it YOUR way.   Its not a big box store, its not made in China imports, its handmade and unique, just like you!
